Harrison Jude and the Holidays
What better way to start a new webpage than with information about a new family member. On November 28th, Harrison Jude Bangert joined our family and we have been loving him ever since.
Harrison is a better sleeper than Max (you may recall that Max just did not like sleep, at all, for a year). However, like Max, he has inherited his father's temperamental gullet and he is still working his way through that early period of indigestion and spitting up.
Max, on the other hand, has been an incredible big brother. Some of the images we have of Max meeting his brother and just loving him right at the start are just priceless. Also, Max has been a wonderful host. He immediately showed Harrison all the rooms of the house, most importantly, the room they will soon share.
Theresa was just incredible. Still is, in fact. Again, despite what I am sure was overwhelming pain, she was in control of her early labor to such a degree that we left the hospital 4 hours after her water broke because she was adamant that she wanted to labor as much as possible at home. Once we came back, Harrison arrived just 2 1/2 hours after we were back at the hospital. And again, Harrison arrived au natural. Yeah, she's one tough momma. Since then, she's obviously carried the heavy load of caring for Harrison for most of the time, and while Max gets stuck with a lot of Daddy time, we are trying to make the best of it - he definitely misses his Mom, but he's hanging in there.
Of course, tomorrow is Christmas Eve, and everyone in our house is sick. Ok, Mommy's holding out, but Max has a fever, I've had a cough since Harrison was born and Harrison seems to have a bit of both, in addition to his maybe-reflux.
So, for now, I just wanted to say Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. Hopefully, before I publish this page, I can create a photo gallery for you to enjoy (if you like that sort of thing).
